SKS "Cheese Grater" Vented Handguard - Chinese Fits PolyTech Rifle

Cheese graters are hard to find these days, so I am glad I was able to get one at all. That being said, the PolyTech isn't "tall" enough, and easily "rolls" inside of the ferules so that it is usually slightly canted to one side or the other (even with two retaining clips installed). It's not a huge problem, but I will be on the look out for a better fitting one. Just a heads up, even though these are distributed in the US, they are Chinese made, so if you really need a 922r compliant part, this ain't it. If, like me, you've been searching for these high and low and this is the only one you could find NIB, I'd say go for it because it's better than getting gouged on an auction site for a used one.

From the material and looks of this heat shield,it will look very nice. However seeing previous reviews,it not a piece of cake. Nevertheless, I up to the challenge, but as of this time,I have not installed it yet, to be continued .......

Though I actually didn't need it, but I'll keep it for next time. I used the handguard rivet included. Fit perfectly, squashed easily.

Product fit as described, instructions clear, just what I was looking for.

I like the looks of my weapon after the install. The fit is a little loose on the rear of the handguard but not enough to complain about. A fix for this would be to install two tension clips, as the package only comes with one. If 2-3mm of play doesn't bother you, then I say this is a cool investment for the SKS. Also you might have to open it up a little to fit the end caps.

This is a nice piece, I opened it up slightly to fit the contours of the end caps, installed the center barrel support and it stays on nice and tight, no rattling.

Arrived when they said it would, meeting the specifications of the items description. Very pleased
