Too expensive
I am happy with the quality of the product- but it is WAY overpriced. You manufactured a couple pieces of steel for pennies, threw in a slave labor made bayonet, and charge 250.00 for it. PolyTech Reply - I wish it were that easy. This FSB was made from the original Mold from Factory (386) China. It is as close to an original as it gets ...with much better quality. We have literally months of Engineering, T&E and a huge investment on our part to bring you this piece for your PolyTech.

Impressive product!
Excellent product! If you (like I) have wanted an AK spiker for years but could not afford one, here is your solution. My only request for improvement would be to be able to buy the FSB with the barrel void unfinished. This would allow the kit to be installed on nearly any AK from anywhere in the world. As I put it on a new I-O underfolder, the barrel OD was a few thousandths too thin to get a good press fit. So, maybe tomorrow I'll weld it on to the barrel and start working on the refinish. I'm so happy I finally have my spiker! I think I'm going to order another kit just in case that perfect Chinese project gun happens to avail itself someday!

Beautiful fit and finish
I purchased this sight assembly to put on my ak. The fit and finish was first class. Pressed old base off slid this one on. Lined it up drilled pin holes. And PRESTO!!!!! Instant spiker ak47!!

Product is of good quality. But....
FSB pin holes (after drilling) did not match the slots on my NHM90 barrel. FSB comes with guides, but is not drilled through and does not come with those pins. FSB is also taller than the factory FSB which means muzzle brake pin does not get locked into place like with the original FSB. It appears it will not work with some Norinco models. If I can find a virgin Norinco barrel with no FSB retaining pin slots drilled yet I can make it work. REPLY: Not guaranteed to work on all Norinco rifles. May work on some, but designed for the PolyTech.

Can't Wait to Have it Installed - PolyTech Front Sight Base Bayonet Assembly - Made In The USA!
Absolutely top notch item. I have always liked the looks of the spiker type 56 rifles. I will have my gunsmith install it on my Mak 90 so the rifle need no longer look like an abortion. You guys should mfg a standard FSB and Gas Chamber with bayo lug so that all of the hideous Mak 90s out there can regain their dignity.

Well worth the $$ - US Made AK47 Front Sight Base
This was a tight fit, but not any real problem to removed the old FSB or install the new one. While you have the old FSB off, it's a good opportunity to thread the barrel if your original threads were ground off and you want to use a muzzle device. I used a 1x28 die. I would also recommend a gunsmith if you're not comfortable with doing this kind of work.

check your specs before you start
as mentioned above: this will be a tight fit and may/will require "fitting". ALSO!: Check your specs. Specifically check the distance from center-of-bore of the hole for the muzzle device lock and spring. The FSB I received has a hole drilled too far off center and the muzzle device retention pin will not reach the notch on the slant brake.

High Quality Spiker for your MAK Conversion- Shipped FAST!
Yeah it's expensive, but less than an original if you can find one (Now VERY rare), and the bayonet is genuine Chinese, and complete except for cross-pins- I had to go a bit over-size for those anyway. This is NOT a bolt-on item. For a Mak, you're going to: Remove old sight base, thread muzzle, press new sight base (and it's a TIGHT fit), drill pin holes, install muzzle device lock and spring, cross-pins, rivet the bayonet on, cut the groove in front handguard, and finally, refinish the base to match your rifle (this will remove the 922R notice on the new base, but doesn't matter, as the sight base, bayonet lug and bayonet are not 922R items, and as long as your rifle is compliant, will make no difference). Unless you have the tools and experience, this should be installed by a gunsmith. With all that, this kit and a bit of work will give you that "Spiker" you've been wanting!
