Replacement spring for your Poly Technologies AK spring loaded firing pin. The Chinese PolyTech AKS rifles come with two firing pin variations. The early models featured the floating type firing pin much like the Norinco imports. Floating firing pins were usually seen on rifles manufactured and stamped /416\. The later version PolyTech rifles from Factory (386) included upgrades like the spring loaded firing pins. This is an exact replacement for the upgraded AK47 spring loaded bolt configuration.
I finally tried fitting a new spring on my rifle and this spring is completely different from factory. I have a 7.62 rifle. It fits on the firing pin and may very well work. The original is much sronger, longer and it is a double wound spring like the extractor and hammer spring. I've read about failures of firing pin springs maybe that's why they changed the design.
Unfortunately the web page for this AK firing pin spring does not specify the caliber for which it is designed. Took a chance and ordered. I was sadly (not surprisingly) disappointed to learn that the spring is 12mm x 6mm - for a 7.62 x 39 - and would not fit. My seemingly rare Norinco .223/5.56 spring is 15mm x 5mm - for limited few who may find themselves in my same predicament. Now having to return. Best of luck. Cheers.
Since Polytech AK47's are exclusive with the spring loaded firing pin, this is a must have spare part to have.
